This page is only for University of Toronto students, and only for what's genuinely University-of-Toronto-specific: your students' union's own programs, your registrar's own emergency funds, your campus's own clinic, food bank, gym, or store. Nothing here is a general Toronto or general-Ontario-student resource restated for convenience — for those, go to Student Survival (the cross-campus base guide) first, and to whichever topical guide matches your need (e.g. Claim Everything for general tax/benefits, Housing for general housing). That's the only pointer you'll see to "resources anyone can use" on this page — everything below this line is UofT-specific.

University of Toronto has three physical campuses (St. George, UTSC/Scarborough, UTM/Mississauga) and five separate students'-group organizations that each run their own emergency fund, food bank, and/or health plan: UTSU (full-time undergrads, St. George), UTMSU (full-time undergrads, UTM), SCSU (undergrads, UTSC), APUS (part-time undergrads, tri-campus), and UTGSU (graduate students, tri-campus). They are not interchangeable — a UTSU-run bursary will not pay out to a UTSC student, and an undergraduate health plan will not cover a graduate student. I need money right now — bursaries, grants, and loans

Two different systems exist side by side: your students' union's own emergency fund, and the university's own (registrar / School of Graduate Studies) emergency grants and loans. Where both exist for your group, apply to whichever is faster or check both — they are not mutually exclusive on this page, though some programs require you to have applied to one before the other (noted below).

UTGSU Emergency Grant Up to $1,000 total across your UTGSU membership for graduate students facing serious financial need from a specific emergency (medical crisis, family illness/death, natural disaster, sudden job loss causing food insecurity within two weeks, gender-based/IPV situations). You must first have exhausted or been found ineligible for SGS's own emergency funding (below) before UTGSU will pay out.
