Three additional Toronto service providers: corrections, HIV/AIDS housing, and a neighbourhood shelter operator

Three real, confirmed Toronto organizations extend this library's operator coverage into corrections- adjacent services and HIV/AIDS-specific supportive housing — with a genuine financial-transparency gap for two of the three, disclosed rather than assumed away.

The finding

The John Howard Society of Toronto is a confirmed real registered charity (CRA Business Number 133412114RR0001). Its Toronto branch files separate financials from the John Howard Society of Ontario parent organization, per the parent's own financial statement disclosure, but branch-specific figures are not surfaced through Charity Intelligence, which has no dedicated Toronto profile CSRL2-678. The Society's own historical research is directly relevant to this library's corrections-homelessness coverage: an August 2010 study, "Homeless and Jailed: Jailed and Homeless," found 49.2% of sentenced prisoners surveyed were already Ontario Works or ODSP recipients before incarceration, rising to 63.9% among the homeless subgroup specifically. No CRA business number, Charity Intelligence profile, or financial figure was located for CONC despite the attempt — a genuine negative result on the financial-transparency side specifically, not a gap this page glosses over CSRL2-681.

Why it matters
