The Civic & Tech Landscape
Toronto’s civic-tech, startup, research, and public-interest-technology ecosystem — 556 organizations spanning civic tech and GovTech, AI and data, climate and health tech, funders, universities, labour co-ops, diaspora tech networks, and more.
This page is a research census, not a re-verified directory: it was built by researching Toronto’s tech and civic ecosystem broadly, and not every row has been independently re-confirmed live the way the Organization Directory’s rows have been. Of the 556 rows, this census’s own records mark 470 as currently live, 38 as defunct, 14 as dormant, 29 of unconfirmed current status, and the remainder merged or otherwise resolved elsewhere; by evidence strength, 327 carry this census’s strongest verification mark, 185 a secondary-source mark, 28 a directory-only mark, and 16 are unverified. Read this page as a map of where to start looking, not a claim that every organization listed is active today. See something wrong or missing? Tell us on the Harvest.
